About Us

JACKSON COUNTY CHAMBER OF COMMERCE (JCCC) was formed and organized in the State of West Virginia in 1994, to promote the economic, industrial, professional, cultural and civic welfare of the region.

Initiated by the efforts of Jack Burlingame, who served as Executive Director of the Jackson County Development Authority from 1985 to 2002, and David C. Hardesty, Jr., then a resident of Jackson County who later served as President of West Virginia University from 1995 to 2007, the JCCC serves Ravenswood, Ripley and all of Jackson County with the mission to create a better Jackson County for its businesses and citizens.  In concert with its mission, the JCCC focuses its efforts on the following key objectives:

  • Locating and expanding new and existing businesses and industries within an area that will benefit the people and economy of Jackson County;
  • Acquiring, preserving and distributing industrial, commercial, economic and civic data and information concerning its area of operation; and
  • Representing its membership in the consideration and solution of local, state and national issues affecting the Jackson County region.

To support its mission, the JCCC has historically provided a variety of services to its members and the community at large. From hosting networking events and business development workshops to advocating for our region’s educational, cultural and civic welfare, the JCCC supports its members and their efforts to grow Jackson County, such as:

  • Jackson County Junior Fair (Vendor Booth and Livestock Purchase)
  • Outdoor Hunting and Fishing Show
  • Luncheons with local, state and national leaders
  • After Hours/Networking Receptions
  • Jackson County Home Show
  • Legislative Wrap-Up
  • Meet the Candidates – Voter Education
  • Christmas in Candyland Community Event
  • Leadership Jackson County
  • Small Business Saturday

Realizing that what’s good for Jackson County is also good for the State of West Virginia, the JCCC is proud to work hand in hand with other entities focused on economic and business development in our region, including the Jackson County Development Authority,  Polymer Alliance Zone, West Virginia Development Office and the West Virginia Chamber of Commerce.

The future of our region remains bright.  Global manufacturers, tech companies, renewable energy developers, automotive, aviation and agribusinesses, chemical/polymer companies and other businesses continue to discover the benefits of doing business in the Mountain State.  With a dedicated work force, easy access to river, rail, interstate and air transport, and a quality of life that embraces all the opportunities afforded West Virginia, Jackson County is primed to build on its economic growth opportunities.  The JCCC proudly supports its diverse membership, and will continue to actively seek partnerships to promote, enhance and create a better Jackson County for its businesses and citizens.
